Oxford

Oxford was very cold, very misty, very breezy, and I was very happy.  Christ Church below; no admittance that day so we did not get to see the famous staircase and dining hall from the H. Potter movies.

So wandered around the bookstores.

Found Charlotte's college, University College and were lucky enough to encounter a kind porter who not only allowed us five minutes in the gardens but also allowed the unallowable:
admission to the Shelley Memorial.  Guide books will tell you: "look for a dome shape behind the front wall and you will be as close to the Shelley Memorial as the school will allow."
A good lunch is to be found here, as well as the spirits of Lewis, Tolkien, Williams....
and Baker.

Off to Paris tomorrow so the entries will be delayed.  More soon.

Charles
